Vienna High Level Symposium, April 2007
The theme of the first symposium in Vienna in April 2007 was ‘Country-level experiences in coordinating and managing development corporation’. Participants examined progress, identified key challenges and discussed good practices by donors and partner countries in implementing some of the policy goals established at the 2005 World Summit and the International Conference on Financing for Development, held in Monterrey in 2002. Some of the key policy messages focussed on national ownership, the participation of non-state actors, mutual accountability, development effectiveness, national development strategies and the formulation of aid management strategies.
